Chris Gantry was the gun powder in the pistol which fired the bullet of the outlaw movement.

In the '60s, the heart of Nashville beat with a strange rhythm few could understand;

It was a time of creativity and change;

A collection of young men like Chris Gantry, Shel Silverstein, Kris Kristofferson, Mickey Newbury, and Willie Nelson, who could interpret the pulse in the pavement, and document the whispers of the city with their words.

Chris' Latest Book RElease

"Gypsy dreamers in the alley"

In a collective stream of consciousness, Chris Gantry gives the reader an autobiographical look into the music business and into the outlaw movement OF Nashville DURING the '60s. Praised by USA Today and The Tennessean, it is clear,"Gypsy Dreamers in the Alley," integrates CHRIS' GIFT of songwriting into storytelling through this beautiful memoir.

Foreword to

"Gypsy Dreamers in the Alley"

Kris Kristofferson:

"Chris Gantry is the most consistent, dedicated, creative artist that I have ever known in my life.  I think he has never changed and to me, he has always represented what William Blake described in the artist; “if he who is organized by the divine spiritual communion, refuse and bury his talent in the earth even though he should want natural bread, sorrow and desperation will pursue him throughout life and after death shame and confusion of face to eternity”. Chris Gantry lived up to that standard as an artist."

New album release coming in july from Chris Gantry! All new music.

Gantry penned the American classic, Dreams Of The Everyday Housewife by Glen Campbell, which won three BMI honors including the Millionaire's Award for over two million performances. Gantry has written for Sony Music, Warner Chapel Music, Faverett Music Group.

In addition to songwriting, Chris is a prolific writer of prose, novels, and poetry. He won the Tennessee Williams Playwriting Contest with a collection of one-act plays entitled Teeth and Nails. Gantry has written several books including Father Duck Tales, a collection of short stories.

His recent autobiography, Gypsy Dreamers In The Alley, explores his life in the Nashville music business from his arrival to modern day. The book received glowing reviews from both the Tennessean and USA Today. Gantry currently writes for Cool Vibe Publishing.

Chris Gantry plays a significant part in the Outlaws and Armadillos: Country’s Roaring 70’s exhibit on display now at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, Tn.
